Digital exhibit at Mall of Georgia explores 'future' of art

Once upon a time, visiting an art exhibit meant standing around and looking, but not touching.  But times have changed, and so has art – and a new exhibit at Mall of Georgia is all about looking, touching, and creating.

Japanese company teamLab has opened its first-ever exhibit on the east coast at Buford’s Mall of Georgia, called teamLab: Future Park.  The digital art installation involves technology that allows visitors to create additions to the artwork and change it, resulting in ever-evolving displays.  Examples including the Sketch Aquarium, in which guests can draw and color sea creatures and then send them inside a virtual aquarium, and a Light Ball Orchestra, allowing people to create a symphony of sound and light.  teamLab: Future Park will be open at Mall of Georgia until July 31.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spent the morning with some new friends, channeling his inner artist and exploring this state-of-the-art attraction.
