College football 'attic treasures' surface at Hall of Fame

Just in time for the start of college football season, a new exhibit at Atlanta’s College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience brings some incredible artifacts out of the attic…and puts them out on display.

“Attic Treasures” is a limited-time exhibit which features unique items that help tell the story of college football, all donated by players, family members, and schools.  Included in the exhibit are an alligator skin football (commemorating the Gator Bowl) and dirt collected from College Field at Rutgers University, site of the very first college football game.  “Attic Treasures” joins other popular exhibits at the downtown Atlanta attraction including the actual Hall of Fame, Game Day Theatre, virtual reality stadium, and indoor playing field.  Staffers there are also prepping to kick off college football season with Football Fest, a family-friendly event taking place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 26th featuring several football-themed activities.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken spend the morning at the College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-fil-A Fan Experience, exploring “Attic Treasures” and getting into the college football spirit.
