Burgers with Buck: Olde Courthouse Tavern

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. - Larry Graves is not only a Fayette County native, but generations of his family have called the county south of Atlanta home. His father and grandfather before him were local business owners, so when he retired from almost three decades of teaching at Fayette County High School, he decided to follow in their footsteps and open his own business.

In the shadow of the old Fayette County Courthouse, built in 1825, sits the Olde Courthouse Tavern.  Designed to resemble an old English Pub, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.  They serve old time favorites with a southern flare. 

Speaking of favorites, #BurgersWithBuck decided to give their signature Glynn Street Burger a try.  Made with certified Angus ground beef, house made spicy pimento cheese, thick cut bacon, and topped with a fried green tomato, it is juicy and delicious, and potentially a stained shirt in the making.   

I'm proud to say, as I knock on wood, that makes 84 straight burgers without a ruined dress shirt.  I know, I know, my time will come, but at this point I can;t help but feel that I'm playing with house money.  (FYI...while writing this, I just spilled coffee on my shirt...karma.)

When you go in, make sure you say hello to Larry, and imagine what it must have been like to be one his students at FCHS.  Let's just say, he's a character.
