Burgers with Buck: Hugo's Oyster Bar

As the name implies, Hugo’s Oyster Bar in Roswell is a great place to go for fresh seafood. They have also become known for their classic New Orleans Po’ Boys, steaks, salads, and desserts... the notoriety of which is well deserved.

More than likely if you are going to Hugo’s, you are going there for one of the above-mentioned specialties. But remember, this is #BurgersWithBuck. In other words, you’re probably not paying a visit to this fixture on Alpharetta Street, just south of Holcomb Bridge with a burger in mind. After today, that may change.

The ½ Pound C-B-S Burger, named for the blend of chuck, brisket and short rib that make up the substantial pattie, is a menu staple at Hugo’s. It is popular and delicious. However, in honor of #BWB’s visit to Hugo’s this week, Jon Schwenk has created a special burger creation that he has named Hugo’s Blackened Cajun Burger.

It goes a little something like this. Take that same huge ½ pound patties, add white cheddar cheese, grilled andouille sausage, roasted tomato (with thyme, olive oil, salt, and pepper), grilled onions, fried bread and butter pickles for sweetness, and Thousand Island dressing with a little creole mustard added for some extra zip.

It’s big and flavorful and available for a limited time, so BWB recommends that you go check it out for yourself.
