Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta compete in cooking challenge

The Boys and Girls Clubs are back at it again! They joined Good Day Atlanta to show us how to make ‘Pineapple Mango Jalapeno Salsa,’ the dish they are hoping will take home the grand price at the annual celebration of Boys & Girls Clubs cooking and gardening programs.

The event is intended to help show the kids the importance of eating healthy. In preparation, they learned how to cook and maintain a garden.

Many of the recipes involve home-grow ingredients, according to Boys and Girls club officials.

Those who get to attend the event with have the chance to vote on the best salsa while shaking a move dancing the salsa with professional dancers.

The dishes will be judged by Atlanta top chefs, fitness professionals, and restaurant owners.

The competition is taking place on Tuesday been 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Greystone in Piedmont Park.
