Atlanta Mandir celebrates 10 years of worship
ATLANTA - If you've driven much on Lawrenceville Highway, you've no doubt seen the stunning, palatial structure just off the highway in Lilburn. It's one of the most unique places in North Georgia, and this year, it's celebrating a decade of serving Metro Atlanta.

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir was officially opened in August of 2007, featuring incredible design and architecture created out of Turkish Limestone, Italian marble, and Indian pink sandstone.
A Mandir is a Hindu place of worship, and it's open to visitors who want to come explore the massive, intricately detailed structure and surrounding property. During construction, more than 34,000 pieces were hand-carved in India and shipping to Georgia, where they were then assembled by mainly volunteers. Today, audio tours are available, along with guided group tours, and visitors may also visit the sacred part of the Mandir to participate in daily Hindu prayer and chanting rituals.
The Mandir is open to visitors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, and admission is free.
