Legislation targets ice detention and airport deployment
An Atlanta city councilman is proposing legislation to block any new ICE detention centers within Atlanta city limits. The resolution aims to prevent the federal government from establishing immigration detention facilities in the city. Councilman Antonio Lewis says he’s also raising concerns about ICE agents being seen at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, questioning why immigration officers are present if they are not trained to work with TSA.
