A teenager who was weeks away from becoming a father was gunned down early Wednesday morning in northwest Atlanta.

A woman tells Atlanta Police she saw a couple of young men walking down the street as she returned home in the 200 block of Spellman Street.

Once inside, she said her brother, 18-year-old Kyle Taylor, left the residence.

Moments later, she heard him arguing with someone, and then a single gunshot was fired.

When she went outside, she found her brother with a gunshot wound to the head.

Taylor died on the way to Grady Memorial Hospital.

The mother of Taylor's unborn child, Rashida Dennis, tells FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell she is 6 months pregnant.

Fighting back tears, Dennis said, "I'm still glad that I can carry on his name."

His family says Taylor last attended Douglass High School in Atlanta. A spokesperson for Atlanta Public Schools said Taylor was not currently enrolled.

Investigators couldn't find a shell casing in the street, so they brought in a police K9 unit to look for clues.

Police didn't immediately have a description of the suspect.

Anyone with information about the murder of Kyle Taylor is asked to call Atlanta Police.

The family has set up an account to help with funeral expenses. If you would like to help you can go to gofundme.com/dk4t8dv5.
