Woodstock man killed in head-on crash Christmas night

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - A head-on collision on Christmas Night has claimed the life of a 60-year-old Woodstock man.

Authorities said Steven Williams crossed the center lane, hitting another vehicle on Arnold Mill Road.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver survived the crash.

This year's holiday travel season has been especially deadly in Georgia.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, eight people lost their lives during last year's Christmas travel period.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 13 people have died on Georgia highways and that's just since Friday.

The final count won’t be available until after midnight on Wednesday.
