Woman robbed, shot during drug deal in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - With her eight-year-old nephew waiting in the car, a woman was shot during a drug transaction in DeKalb County.

The incident occurred at an abandoned house in the 1100 block of Dantel Court around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say the woman, 43, along with her 28-year-old male companion, were at the house for a drug deal. Once inside, suspects, described as black males in their twenties, robbed her of cash and shot her in the leg. The suspects then stole the woman’s pickup truck. Police say the woman's nephew, who was waiting inside the truck, got out before the suspects left the scene.

After the incident, the woman’s companion reportedly fled the scene.

Police say the woman was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
