Wanted couple charged in Norcross fatal shooting
NORCROSS, Ga. - An Alabama man and woman have been charged in the shooting death of Michael Harvey in Norcross.
Demetrius Lamar Heade, 30, and his female companion, Tilisha Lakelia Tate, 35, are both charged with murder and aggravated assault. Police say the couple already had active out-of-state warrants for their arrests in connection with another homicide in Alabama.
On November 10, a passerby reportedly found Harvey lying unresponsive on Button Gwinnett Drive. Responding officers found that he had at least one gunshot wound. Harvey was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police say Harvey’s vehicle and the suspects’ vehicle were involved in a car accident. Afterwards, the suspects shot Harvey and fled the scene.
During the investigation, police say they learned that the suspects may be a man and woman who were wanted in Alabama. A day after the shooting, officers saw the suspects in the 6900 block of Dawson Boulevard and took them into custody.
Heade remains in custody at the Gwinnett County Jail. Tate has been extradited back to Mobile, Alabama.
