Villa Rica Man Declared Dead Back Home

VILLA RICA, Ga. - A young man once declared dead after a shooting has been released from the hospital.

Villa Rica Police confirmed Clifford Pruett is at home after being discharged from Grady Memorial Hospital.

Last March, the Villa Rica man was shot in the head. Doctors told the Carroll County Coroner he died and police charged Joshua Shivers with murder. But, about 36 hours later, officers were told the victim was alive.

The suspect now faces charges of aggravated assault.
