Video appears to show deputy kicking handcuffed man

MACON, Ga. (AP) - Bibb County deputies have released a video that appears to show a deputy kicking a handcuffed man in the chest last August.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office announced Friday that deputy Nathaniel Woodard had been fired and charged with simple battery and violating his oath of office in connection with the arrest of 38-year-old Devasco Holly.

The video, released on Monday, appears to show Woodard kicking the handcuffed Holly to the ground after he warned him not to try to stand up again. Internal affairs investigators received the footage in July from Holly's attorney.

The sheriff's office says the incident happened August 10, 2014 after a criminal trespass call where a woman complained her boyfriend, Holly, had kicked in her front door.

It is unclear if Woodard has an attorney.
