Thieves steal ashes of woman's sister, along with pet rabbit
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A DeKalb County woman was out of town attending a family funeral when thieves broke into her home. Now, she wants them to return one item.
Kashae Robinson arrived home from a trip to California to find her home ransacked.
"My room was trashed. I turned and looked, and screamed 'Oh my God, they took Tracy!' I just want her back," Robinson told FOX 5.
An ornate mother-of-pearl box with blue stones on top housed her sister's cremated remains. It was taken, along with several TV's and another precious belonging.
"They also took my pet rabbit, Pebbles. She's my baby. I love her to death."
The animal walks on a leash and responds when called. Robinson said she's both devastated and furious. She hopes fingerprints and surveillance cameras in her neighborhood help police catch these crooks she calls "heartless."
