Sex predator sentenced: Oregon man lured Georgia girl

COLUMBUS, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A registered sexual predator is headed to prison for forcing a Georgia girl to send nude photos from nearly 3,000 miles away.

Tuesday, a federal judge in Columbus handed down a 17-and-a-half-year sentence to the 24-year-old from Oregon.

Colby Cohran contacted the 15-year-old girl through Instagram while she was living with her parents at Fort Benning.

While posing as a teenager, he coerced his victim to send risqué photos.

Then later blackmailed her for additional pictures by threatening to leak the first images online.

Cohran was already a registered sex offender in Oregon when he contacted the Georgia teen.
