Children at a DeKalb County elementary school get free tickets to SeaWorld for helping protect our planet.

It all started when Panola Way Elementary School teacher Sharon Thomas took a trip to SeaWorld in Orlando.

She was inspired to see the park did not use plastic to serve food.

And that inspiration became an important teaching moment about the dangerous effects plastic can have on our environment and oceans.

Since then, her students have started using reusable bottles and have volunteered to clean up at a landfill.

SeaWorld was blown away by their mission, so they rewarded the class with complimentary tickets for the entire class.
