Police searching for armed bank robber in Cartersville

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. - Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect in a Monday morning bank robbery in Cartersville.

Police say the robbery occurred at 9:05 a.m. at the Hamilton State Bank on the 900 block of Joe Frank Harris Parkway when a man pulled out what may have been a handgun and demanded money.

Police described the man as being between 40 and 50 years old, approximately 5-feet-7-inches tall, and around 170 pounds.

The man got away with an undetermined amount of currency and is still on the run.

Police do not have a description of the suspect at this time.
