DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A man is dead, and another man is in the DeKalb County Jail charged with murder after gunfire erupted during an argument Friday morning.

It happened shortly before noon in the 900 block of Redan Trail near Rampart Place. According to the DeKalb County Police Department, officers arrived to find a 32-year-old man shot near a creek in the neighborhood.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later identified him as Shaquille Smalls.

Deshawn Brown, 26, was arrested at the scene. He was booked into the DeKalb County Jail on a murder charge. Investigators believe the incident started as an argument that turned into gunfire.
