Police: Officer hospitalized after distracted driver strikes patrol car

Police in Chattahoochee Hills were keeping one of their own in their prayers Tuesday after a crash.

The Chattahoochee Hills Police Department said the officer was struck by a distracted driver who cross the center line along South Fulton Parkway and slammed into the patrol car.

“Our officers are out 24/7/365 trying to keep our city safe. They also make every effort to get home safely to their families,” read statement post to their Facebook page.

The officer was rushed to an area hospital, but is expected to survive.

“Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers,” the post concluded.

The department did not release the name of the officer or the at-fault driver, but did post pictures of the mangled patrol car.
