Police: Man with gun taken into custody near school
ATLANTA - An Atlanta elementary school was placed on lockdown Monday afternoon after police investigate a nearby report of a man with a gun.
It happened near M. A. Jones Elementary School located 1040 Fair Street in southwest Atlanta just after 2:30 p.m. Atlanta Police said one person with a gun and magazine was taken into custody. The full details of the situation have not yet been released.
The precautionary lockdown at the school was lifted following the arrest.
No injuries were reported.
