Police make arrest of wanted woman following standoff
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A 3-hour SWAT standoff in DeKalb County came to the end Tuesday night with an arrest.
Police said a woman wanted in an armed kidnapping from over the weekend was identified Tuesday and tracked down to the Waterford Manor Apartments on Covington Highway. DeKalb County Officers arrived and said the woman barricaded herself in an apartment with a gun. The SWAT team used tear gas and was able to arrest her.
Police said the woman, along with a second female suspect held, a man at gunpoint and drove him to several ATM locations. Their names have not yet been released.
Residents were instructed by officers to stay inside their apartments during the standoff.
There were no reports of injuries.
