Police investigate possible murder-suicide at Alpharetta hotel

Alpharetta Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide at the Homewood Suites at Davis Drive.

Hotel guest Brittney Angel from Destin Florida was visibly shaken by news of the deadly violence, especially after hearing lots noise Sunday night.

“I just heard a lot of loud noise, but I didn't know what was going on,” Angel said explaining she heard the noise coming from the third floor.

Alpharetta police responded to a third floor room after getting call requesting to check the welfare of the occupants around 1:30 p.m. from management after the hotel guests had not checked out.

“Upon entry, they discovered a female that was deceased in the room. A second female was found in the room that was critically injured,” said Officer George Gordon.

Officer Gordon said the second woman was rushed to North Fulton Hospital where police said she was pronounced dead about eight hours after being discovered in the room.

Police said there was no sign of any intruder and that all signs point to a murder-suicide.

“We are investigating this as a homicide at this time,” said Officer Gordon. “That is a distinct possibility. In these types of situations that something we would normally look at.”

Alpharetta police removed a gray Honda Accord with an Alabama license plate from the parking lot and other evidence from the crime scene.

They said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with this apparent murder suicide which resulted in two women dead.

“My heart goes out to the survivors. I can't imagine what you are going through like I have no words,” said Angel.

As of late Monday night, Alpharetta police had not indicated the manner of death for either woman.

Their names and ages also had not been released.
