Police in Duluth said they found meth, Xanax, and marijuana in a baby diaper. Investigators said the wild discovery landed two people in jail.

“We don’t get that often. It’s just another way for criminals to try to hide their illegal activity,” said Officer Ted Sadowski, Duluth Police Department.

The bizarre discovery happened around noon Thursday near the intersection of Steve Reynolds Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road. Officer Sadowski said an officer pulled over Maria Medina after running her tag and first finding a canceled registration. She also lied about her name and date of birth. A quick check and an officer said they found she was driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Sadowski shared a picture of the scene. He said Medina was in the back of this patrol car as officers questioned her two passengers including George Figueroa, who they also arrested.

The duo faces charges of felony possession with intent to distribute drugs among other offenses.

Figueroa is also charged with having a knife during the commission of a felony.

Investigators aren't ruling out the possibility the case could cross state lines.

Police said they also found medical marijuana packets in the vehicle which may be from another state.
