Police: Armed group beats, robs couple in home invasion

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police are looking for four armed men who robbed and beat a couple during a home invasion in Lawrenceville.

Gwinnett County Police say the attack happened earlier this month at the Atlantic at Sweetwater Apartments on Club Drive.

In the afternoon, the group kicked in the couple's apartment door, pistol-whipped them and ransacked their apartment, according to an incident report obtained by FOX 5 News. Investigators say the men stole several items before leaving, including a laptop, cellphones and a PlayStation.

The victims told investigators they believe at least one of their attackers is a gang member. Detectives say it's possible the group could've been looking for someone who lived in the apartment previously. The couple sustained minor injuries during the attack.

The armed robbers were captured on surveillance cameras leaving the apartment complex in a green Toyota Camry. They're described as four, African-American men who wore blue bandanas, all black and surgical gloves.
