One Year Later: Newton County church to rebuild after fire
COVINGTON, Ga. - Members of a Newton County church are preparing to rebuild after losing their sanctuary to a fire one year ago.
The pastor, Stan Patterson, said Church 213 in Covington burned down after a wiring problem. But since losing the church, he said his members have worshipped at other local church facilities. They also received a generous donation from a local religious leader: a new church.

"God dropped a building in our lap. A 13,000 square foot, erected steel building that will be going up on the hill," Patterson said.
He said it will take several volunteers to put up the structure. Plus, the church is need of monetary donations to help with the build. The group is aiming to complete the project by the end of summer, Patterson added.
