What they're saying:

"At this difficult time, we ask that the privacy of Jeffrey’s family be respected. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this challenging period," the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement posted to Facebook.

The backstory:

Officials first asked for the public’s help on Monday, noting that Epps was nonverbal and would struggle to communicate if found.

Hundreds of searchers — including volunteers, deputies, and emergency personnel — turned out to help look for the teen.

Volunteers told FOX 5 they wanted nothing more than to bring Jeffrey home safely for the holidays.
