Man is struck and killed by semi in Marietta parking lot

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Police in an Atlanta suburb are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian.

Marietta police said Monday that the collision happened in a parking lot along Roswell Road.

Police say their initial investigation found that a man wearing a dark-colored jacket and blue jeans was walking north through the parking lot when he was struck by a semitrailer.

Police say that due to the extent of the victim's injuries, they were not able to immediately identify him.
