Man in underwear chases driver who allegedly crashed into store
BRISBANE, Australia - An Australian man dressed only in underwear is being called a hero after chasing a driver who allegedly crashed his car into a shop.
Daniel McConnell was sleeping when the crash happened in Brisbane overnight Thursday. He was able to track down the man after his wife notified him of what had happened outside his home.
"I seen him run away and then come back to the car and I'm like 'What are you doing mate?' And he's like 'Oh, oh, I fell asleep behind the wheel'. But he didn't look like someone who'd just fallen asleep behind the wheel. And all I had was my undies on and he started to take off up the street," McConnell told reporters.
Police arrived shortly after and McConnell was able to alert them to the direction he was heading. The 35-year-old driver was taken into custody and has been charged with one count of unlicensed driving. He is due to appear in court in January.
