Jewelry Thefts Now a Federal Case

Federal and local authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying a man and woman they said robbed four jewelry stores up and down the east coast in the last few months.

The first two were in Georgia - Woodstock and Dawsonville. Federal authorities said the couple should be considered armed and dangerous.

In at least two of the cases, agents said the female would use zip-ties on employees, then start stealing the jewelry.

Investigators believe the pair would case-out the business before they robbed it.

The Jewelers’ Security Alliance is now offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

Agents said the couple’s getaway car is believed to be a red Honda Civic LX, model year 2009 or 2010.
