Hundreds of families got a police and firefighter escort in Bartow County Saturday morning.

Law enforcement, military, and teachers all teamed up to make Christmas a little bit better for some children in Bartow County.

The sheriff's office annual Shop with a Hero treated 300 children and their parents to a free breakfast.

They then loaded school buses and with lights flashing and sirens blaring got a police escort to Walmart for a shopping spree.

Each child was given $150 to buy clothing and toys.

Investigator Hollie McKamey says people from across the community give their money, time, and love to this event.

This is the 11th year for Shop with a Hero program and it is grown every year.
