Coweta County high-speed chase leads to arrest
A high-speed chase in Coweta County ends with a crash and an arrest of a man wanted for stealing a car in Gwinnett County.
COWETA COUNTY, Ga. - A high-speed chase in Coweta County ended with a crash and the arrest of a man wanted for stealing a car in Gwinnett County.
Joshua Ricky Hobgood, 34, was charged with aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, theft by receiving stolen property, DUI, willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer, speeding, obedience to required traffic-control device, failure to maintain lane, and reckless driving.

According to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, Hobgood was behind the wheel of a stolen Honda Accord traveling northbound along Interstate 85 on Nov. 30. Initially, it looked like the driver was going to cooperate, but a video provided by deputies shows the driver taking off.
Investigators say deputies tried a PIT maneuver, but Hobgood was able to regain control of the Honda.
Deputies say Hobgood was driving recklessly at over 100 mph. The video also shows him passing cars in the emergency lane.

The chase eventually ended, and a video provided by deputies shows Hobgood on the ground in handcuffs.
He was booked into the Coweta County Jail without bond and is expected to face charges in Gwinnett County as well.
