Hall County woman accused of beating child

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Gainesville woman was arrested on accusations she severely beating an 11-year-old child.

Amberlee Dowis was charged with aggravated battery.

Hall County Sheriff’s deputies said the beating was so severe, the child's eardrum was ruptured and required medical treatment.

Dowis remained in jail as of Tuesday night.

Authorities said the child was with relatives.
