Police are searching for a gunman after a deadly gas station shooting in southwest Atlanta.

The incident happened early Sunday at a Shell gas station on McDaniel Street after an argument
among a group, Atlanta Police said. Officers said, during the confrontation, a car pulled up with four men inside. One of the men opened fire.

An off-duty officer found the victim, 36-year-old William Respress Jr., shot multiple times outside the front door of the business.

Friends of the Respress, a College Park native, told FOX 5 he was a devoted father and a rapper.

"He had these crazy little dances...We all loved him a lot. This is real tragic for us," Robinson said.

Robinson also said Respress leaves behind a teenage daughter and a two-month-old son.
He added other friends and relatives will hold onto their faith as detectives work to solve the case and find the person who pulled the trigger.

"I just let go and let God..." Robinson said. "There's a bigger judge and it's God. He will take care
of it in his way."

APD described the getaway vehicle as a silver or grey compact car. Police told FOX 5 a bullet grazed another person during the incident.
