Former Forsyth County animal groomer sentenced to prison
FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. - A former Forsyth County pet groomer will spend at least three years in prison.
A jury convicted 44-year-old Michelle Root of aggravated cruelty to animals Thursday.
They found her guilty of kicking and choking a dog named Meko to death in 2017.
The five-year sentence includes three years to serve, two years of probation.
And Root is prohibited from ever caring for or grooming animals again.
