A brand of dog treats is being recalled because the product may be contaminated with salmonella, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Agency officials said no illnesses have been reported related to the affected treats. The contamination was discovered after testing performed by a third-party laboratory "identified contamination in a related yet commercially unreleased lot of the same product."

Elite Treats, LLC. recalled a single lot of Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs that were sold to Florida Hardware, LLC which was sold to feed stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
The Food and Drug Administration says the product is packaged in a 6-ounce black and gold bag marked on the back side with lot number 24045 and an expiration date of 04/2027.

What you can do:
Consumers who bought the recalled treats should stop using them. Do not sell or donate the recalled products. You can also contact Elite Treats, LLC at elite.treats@yahoo.com or 561-901-5310 Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET for information about returning recalled items for a refund or replacement product.
Additionally, the FDA says the treats should be thrown away in a manner that children, pets, and wildlife cannot get to. Pet owners are urged to wash and sanitize pet food bowls, cups, and storage containers.
