Investigators said they are reviewing surveillance video from a neighboring business to try to determine who shot up a Cherokee County car wash Saturday morning.

It happened at the His Hands Car Wash located at 11431 Bells Ferry Road near Canton. Cherokee County deputies said someone fired numerous shots into the shop near Butterworth Road.

Lisa Patrick, the owner of the car wash was tearful as she spoke with FOX 5 News. She said she was grateful she and her grandchildren were not inside the car wash shop she owns when someone sprayed bullets through the windows.

"I just thank God me and my children wasn't there. My grandbabies come to work with me a lot," said Patrick, who said she was told bullets even went through toys belonging to her grandchildren.

Investigators have collected surveillance video from a nearby gas station to try to identify the culprits. Deputies said employees from the adjacent gas station called them that morning, after learning the business next door had significant damage.

Customers around the quiet Cherokee County community said they were shocked a crime like this would even happen in their area and had never seen any violence like this before.

Patrick said she has no idea who would target her business. She said she bought the establishment six months ago from relatives. She said the business name references Jesus, and customers who bring church bulletins to her shop on Mondays get discounts.

"I want whoever did this to my shop to be prosecuted. I feel unsafe now," she said, not sure if she will reopen the store.

Deputies are also asking for anyone with tips to provide information to Cherokee County deputies. People can also submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
