Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine visits Georgia

ATLANTA - Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Kaine spent Sunday at a series of events throughout Atlanta.

Senator Kaine was greeted by community leaders and a crowd of supporters at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Sunday morning.

Among the welcoming party, Atlanta City Council President Ceasar Mitchell and Fulton County Chairman John Eaves.

According to a Fox News national poll, Clinton has a one point lead, with 41 percent to Trump's 40 percent.  Chairman Eaves said turning the state blue is a matter of voter turnout.

"Early voting will be starting in about two weeks, two and half weeks and so it's important for people to get out and vote," said Chairman Eaves. "I am very encouraged, this is the first time in many years that it looks like we may be able to win the state." said Chairman Eaves.

The Virginia Senator attended "Fiesta Mexicana" a festival featuring Latin recording artists, food and family activities.  Senator Kaine also attended two private fundraising events.  Tickets for the events ranged from $5,000 to more than $33,000.

Clinton-Kaine supporters said it boils down to experience and issues supporters said the campaign has been consistent with.

 "Trump is a business man, let him deal with the businesses," said State Senator Valencia Seay.  "I don't think it is a good idea to have people who spur the kind of venom I feel he has been spurring, it is just not the American way."

"I am gay and so having them support gay rights and gay marriage means a lot to me," said Clinton-Kaine supporter Michael Tropp. "Trump has flip-flopped and certainly Mike Pence is not very good on gay issues at all," said Tropp.

With a race that has tightened, supporters are strongly backing each of their candidates.

"We need somebody who is inclusive, who accepts all people because we are all in this together," said State Senator Seay.
