Customers are on edge after a string of car thefts and break-ins at a brand new Kroger store in southeast Atlanta.

The grocery store is located on Glenwood Avenue in Grant Park. Customers are complaining they're being targeted by criminals as they pay as the gas pump outside the building.

Witnesses reported seeing men being dropped off from luxury vehicles before getting into the targeted cars, while drivers stood at the pump. In an incident report over the weekend, one woman told police she was paying at the pump when she suddenly saw her vehicle going away.

Two crimes have taken place in the last three weeks. There have also been several car break-ins at the location.

"Kroger has invested in several measures to ensure the safety of our Glenwood-area customers, including security patrol, surveillance equipment and associate training," the grocery store told FOX 5.
