Authorities in Butts County have arrested a couple accused of beating and robbing a 75-year-old man.

Investigators said Tiffany Washington, 34, and her boyfriend Kenneth "Andy" Faulkner, 40, attacked the senior citizen while he was resting on a swing on the back porch of a home.

Washington and Faulkner allegedly knew the victim and lured him to the home on Old South River Road before beating him. Deputies believe Washington stood by while Faulkner attacked the man, leaving him with serious injuries. The two then stole the victim’s cell phone and a reported $,4000 in cash, according to investigators.

Late Thursday night, Butts County deputies located and arrested the couple near the Little Towaliga River in Monroe County. Butts County Sheriff Gary Long released the following statement on Facebook after the couple was apprehended:

"I personally want to thank every citizen that poured tips into my office, which assisted in the apprehension of these two criminals. Due to your tips, we were able to apprehend both suspects before someone else fell victim to their drug fueled reckless acts. Tiffany Washington will face the charges of Robbery and Conspiracy to commit armed robbery, Kenneth Andrew Faulkner will face charges of Robbery and Conspiracy to commit armed robbery. Both Washington and Faulkner were in possession of methamphetamines and marijuana at the time of their capture. My Investigators will obtain warrant tomorrow in Monroe County for the drug possession charges. Thanks again for your assistance in getting these reckless criminals off our streets."
