Officials said the four children were treated, three of whom were taken to the hospital for burns or smoke inhalation.

Firefighters tell FOX 5 that all the building's 32 units suffered damage.

The blaze left a total of 50 people homeless, including at least 15 children.

Neighbors say they rushed to help after the fire broke out.

Resident Asadulla Momand said he saw a small flame and then what appeared to be an "explosion."

Residents say that many who live in the complex are refugees from Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq.
