Butts County murder suspects identified
BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. - Deputies have arrested two men for the murder of a man found shot to death along a secluded Butt County road.
According to the Butts County Sheriff's Office, Steven Alford Jacobs and Emmanuel James Nesbitt, both of Cartersville, have been charged with Aggravated Assault and Murder in the shooting death of Curtis Author Pitts, 31, also of Cartersville.
Investigators found Pitts with multiple gunshot wounds around 6:15 a.m. Friday after someone called 911 to report a man lying unconscious on the side of the Kennedy Boulevard. The scene was located off Highway 36, just about a mile from Interstate 75.
Authorities said more charges are likely.
