After 29 years, thanks to DNA testing, the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office and Marietta police make an arrest in a cold case involving the murder of a mother and her 13-year-old daughter.

Authorities have charged 60-year-old Ronald Kyles in the murders of Sharon Brady and her daughter Samantha. Police found the two sexually assaulted and stabbed to death on September 12th, 1986.

Kyles was a suspect in the case, but thanks to DNA testing, authorities were able to tie him to the double murder.

Kyles is currently serving a nine-year-sentence for assault in Pennsylvania. Cobb County authorities plan to extradite him back to Georgia and charge him with murder, rape, aggravated assault and burglary.
