Atlantans march downtown to celebrate Black History Month

Hundreds of people filled the streets of Downtown Atlanta for the city's Black History Month Parade.

Groups promoting equality walked along the route alongside local students and bands performing elaborate routines.

Attendees said that the even increases pride while unifying everyone.

"February is known as Black History Month, but we celebrate black history all year round," Camese Noel said. "So we're just so excited to be here for this important event."

Organizers say the parade celebrates culture and encourages the community to come together.
