ATLANTA - Atlanta continues to draw significant attention from international travelers, ranking 12th among the most popular U.S. destinations for global visitors, according to a new survey based on data from the International Trade Administration.
The city welcomes approximately 765,000 international tourists annually, placing it just behind Houston and ahead of Fort Lauderdale.
Leading the list are major hubs like New York, Miami, and Los Angeles, followed by Orlando and San Francisco. However, Atlanta's unique attractions and cultural significance make it a standout destination for visitors from around the world.
According to Condé Nast, key draws include the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birth home in the Old Fourth Ward, the Atlanta BeltLine, and vibrant markets like Krog Street Market and Ponce City Market. Outdoor spaces like Piedmont Park and Historic Fourth Ward Park further enhance the city's appeal.
The addition of new accommodations has also bolstered Atlanta's tourism profile. Midtown’s Spanish colonial-inspired Hotel Granda and the newly opened Fourth in Old Fourth Ward have provided stylish lodging options for visitors, adding to the city’s reputation as a vibrant and welcoming destination.
With its rich history, cultural landmarks, and growing hospitality offerings, Atlanta is poised for another busy year in tourism.
