Police search underway for dog theft suspects in NW Atlanta

Police are asking the public for help with catching thieves who swiped a woman's dog minutes after she parked her car in northwest Atlanta.

Investigators say the dognaping happened on the night of Dec. 6 on the 800 block of 3rd Street.

According to police, the woman parked her vehicle on the street around 9:30 p.m.

When she returned 10 minutes later, her car had been broken into and her black and white Shih Tzu dog was missing.

Police shared photos of the stolen dog in the hopes that someone could recognize it.
