The Rescue Dog Olympics will bring together over 15 Atlanta area pet rescues and pet organizations to bring awareness and support for pet adoption on Saturday.

The Rescue Dog Olympics’ games are fun, any dog and their human can participate and succeed and win prizes. “We have over 25 Atlanta Pet Rescues and pet organizations, 40 businesses and sponsors,” said Jill Waddell, organizer of Rescue Dog Olympics.

“This is the first event that is bringing together multiple pet rescues to join together to create awareness around the need for people to adopt.  There are so many dogs in our Atlanta shelters.  There will be adoptions on site also!”

Rescue Dog Olympics is supporting Blue Buffalo Company’s motto of: “Love them like Family…Feed them like Family”, by encouraging people to spend quality time with their dogs by practicing these games together leading up to the Rescue Dog Olympics and then spend the day together competing and enjoying!

“We also want to Feed them like Family by asking all participants to bring a donated dog food item to the event to donate to Daffy’s Pet Soup Kitchen to assist in feeding Atlanta’ area dogs in need,” said Waddell.

The event will also feature dog training sessions delivered by Atlanta Dog Trainer.

All dogs are welcome to enter the FREE Rescue Dog Olympic Game competitions and can pre-register or sign up on event day. Anyone who brings a donation of a dog food item to the event, for Daffy’s Pet Soup Kitchen and for those who pre-register for the games will be entered into drawings for prizes for you and your dog!

The event takes place Saturday at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
