43-year-old woman stabbed to death in Bibb County, no arrest made

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. - The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Sunday morning near the 4900 block of Bloomfield Road in Macon.

What we know:

According to authorities, the incident was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency-911 Center at 10:40 a.m. Deputies responding to the scene discovered a 43-year-old woman unresponsive, suffering from a stab wound. Despite their efforts, the victim succumbed to her injuries. 

What we don't know:

Her identity has not been released as officials work to notify her next of kin.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the incident. The sheriff’s office has stated that additional details will be shared as they become available.
