The Democratic Republic of the Congo is headed to the knockout rounds after defeating Uzbekistan 3-1 at Atlanta Stadium on Saturday. The historic win marks the first time that DR Congo has won a World Cup match.

The Congolese players executed a dramatic, come-from-behind scoring surge after facing early pressure from the Uzbek squad. Thousands of traveling fans celebrated the momentous achievement as the team secured its path out of the tournament's group phase.

Two second-half goals from Yoane Wissa and one from Fiston Mayele sealed the stunning win.

DR Congo will now face England in the round of 32 at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday following the come-from-behind win.
