Sandy Springs movie theatre gets exciting remake

Longtime film fans will remember it as the Lefont Sandy Springs, but now a Metro Atlanta movie theatre is getting an exciting remake with a new name, new look, and new amenities.

The Springs Cinema & Taphouse is now open in Sandy Springs, turning the former Lefont into a state-of-the-art movie-going experience. Owner Brandt Gully bought the space after spending years providing financial advice to other theatre owners and says the goal is to provide a comfortable experience for a wide audience of people.

To that end, there are eight theatres which will show a mix of big-budget hits and smaller independent films, and film fans will enjoy those movies from luxury heated recliners. The “taphouse” part of the name comes in with more than a dozen local craft breweries served at the bar.

Good Day Atlanta’s resident film fanatic Paul Milliken couldn’t wait to check out The Springs Cinema & Taphouse (the heated recliners didn’t hurt, either), so he spent the morning there getting a tour, as well as learning about a more personal reason why Brandt Gully decided to take over the space.
