London comes to Buckhead at annual antiques show

It’s been an Atlanta tradition for nearly 50 years – but visitors to the Cathedral Antiques Show this weekend might feel like they’ve taken a trip abroad.

“London Calling” is the theme of this year’s Cathedral Antiques Show, which returns to The Cathedral of St. Philip in Buckhead for a 48th year. Dealers from across the country will fill the cathedral with fine antiques including furniture, rugs, art, and silver – along with some really unique and unusual collections – and appraisers will also be on-hand to look over treasures and give their owners an idea of history and value. At the same time, the main floor and sacred spaces of the Cathedral of St. Philip will be filled with floral designs for The Flower Festival, and a series of lectures will feature four British designers including Ben Pentreath, who has worked with the Prince of Whales and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Proceeds from this year’s event will go to Wilderness Works, an Atlanta nonprofit which provides children in need with outdoor educational and enrichment experiences.

Again, The Cathedral Antiques Show takes place at The Cathedral of St. Philip, located at 2744 Peachtree Road Northwest in Buckhead. The show runs from Thursday, January 24th through Saturday, January 26th, and hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets for three-day show entry cost $20.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken stopped by The Cathedral of St. Philip as vendors prepared for this year’s show, and got a first look at some of the treasures to be found inside.
